Tracy E. Shannon, Psy.D. is a clinical assistant professor in the Division of Rehabilitation Psychology, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC). Dr. Shannon is the primary consulting rehabilitation psychologist for the both the Stroke Rehabilitation Unit and the General Rehabilitation Unit at Dodd Hall, located on the OSUWMC main campus. Psycho-education, behavioral management, capacity evaluation, adjustment to rehabilitation, and neuropsychological evaluation are common areas of consultation.
Dr. Shannon performs outpatient neuropsychological evaluations for a wide range of patient populations. She specializes in TBI (mild to severe) evaluation, as well as evaluation following a stroke or related neurological injury. Dr. Shannon’s research interests include management of aggression following acquired brain injury in both adult and pediatric populations.
Dr. Shannon completed a master’s degree in science and criminal justice from Tiffin University in Tiffin Ohio where she played soccer and softball. She went on to earn a master’s degree and doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Antioch University of New England in New Hampshire. She completed her pre-doctoral internship Lakeview NeuroRehabilitation Center in NH where she worked with both adolescents and adults with severe behavioral impairments secondary to a variety of neurologic conditions (e.g., TBI, stroke, MS, ASD). Following internship, she completed a two-year APA accredited postdoctoral fellowship in rehabilitation psychology, at Hurley Medical Center in Flint MI. Dr. Shannon has been trained in neuropsychological assessment for both pediatric and adult populations.
