Our Approach

Because every person is unique, it is essential to begin each treatment program with a thorough evaluation of personal goals, specific situation, and individual strengths and weaknesses.

The psychological effects of injury and illness must be understood in light of the whole person, including physical and medical factors, the demands of one’s life situation, changes in functional abilities, and a person’s reaction to these changes.

The well-being of the individual is our first concern. The person with a disability and their family will direct care, and will always be treated with dignity and respect.

The staff of Rehabilitation Psychology takes great care to assure that our efforts account for:

  • client and family goals,
  • individual capabilities, and
  • available resources and opportunities.

Assistance is always provided in accordance with a detailed treatment plan developed with the client and endorsed by collaborating professionals and organizations.
